"Dreaming is something I’ve always done. I knew, somewhere inside, that despite the friction of life that I had a GREAT purpose, and I would fulfill it. "
I want to take a minute to explain the difference between dreaming, goal planning, and how it requires goal ACTION!
Dreaming is something I’ve always done. I knew, somewhere inside, that despite the friction of life that I had a GREAT purpose, and I would fulfill it.
I would day dream about being a singer. Am I good? Hell yes. Do I love singing? YUP. But deep down, I knew that performing, even in front of thousands, wasn’t my idea of “happiness”.
The biggest part of discovering myself comes down to Goal planning VS. Dreaming. My dreams would be of my family, wonderfully valuable friends, and security. The sprinkles on top would be the ability to help women increase the quality of their life and show them that they’re capable of ANYTHING, and to do this for a living.
SO, TACTICAL DREAMING.
Goal planning is the process of which you achieve those day dreams of yours.
IT’S AS IMPORTANT AS HAVING GOALS OF HOW YOU RUN YOUR DAY, THE ROUTINES, THE DESIRES, SO THAT EACH DAY WILL BRING YOU CLOSER TO YOUR DREAM.
START by writing down a list of everything you want. The house, the bank account balance, the vacation, the relationship, the weight loss…whatever your heart desires…
Then you go one step further…
What’s a specific action you can take towards every single one of those goals today?
It should look something like (if you’re like me)…
Wake up earlier so you have compound your time (nail down the time, set an alarm)
Get some move minutes in to increase your health and energy (in home work out, or a walk)
Eat to FUEL your body to make sure you can do what’s next (instead of taking a nap)
Fill in your calendar with important events (Don’t give your brain so much to memorize, so it can help you focus on YOU)
Write down what you want to accomplish the next day (It’s good to get moving, but to KEEP moving, plan your following days out, I recommend 1week in detail, and 90 days to hit a first level goal)
Go to bed early so you can wake up when you need to. (This doesn’t count for mom’s of newborns, ‘sleep when ya can’ still applies)
I realize that these are super broad, but we all have different activities towards different goals. Without holding yourself accountable towards GOAL ACTION every day, throughout the day, that’s where dreams pass us by my friends.
And dreaming is nice…But let me tell you from experience…It’s 100 MILLION times better to live them out. Here’s HOW.
I HAD THE KIDS. THE STRUGGLING MARRIAGE. HIGH CHOLESTEROL. IDENTITY CRISIS. AND ALL THE SHIT THAT GOES WITH IT.
Through strategic goal action:
I BECAME A BETTER MOM. BUILT MY DREAM JOB. LOST 100LBS AND REGAINED MY HEALTH. STRENGTHENED MY MARRIAGE, AND HAVE CONSEQUENTLY BECOME THE WOMAN OF MY DREAMS.
I am NOT a magical unicorn. Anyone can do this. So, You MUST know the difference between your ‘shoulds’ and your “MUST’s” ….
Yeah, you SHOULD get up earlier…
you SHOULD go to the gym or for at least a walk…
you SHOULD eat better…
you SHOULD love yourself more…
you SHOULD learn more about your children…
you SHOULD go after that job you’ve always wanted…
Turn SHOULD’S into MUST’s. Don’t leave room for other options.
When I decided I MUST get off my ass, walk, plan, work on my mindset, read, …
That’s where my life changed.
So, do it. Don’t wait till Monday.
STEP 1: WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAMS
STEP 2: TURN THAT INTO MULTIPLE GOALS THAT WILL DRIVE THAT DREAM
STEP 3: WRITE DOWN ACTIONS THAT WILL GET YOU CLOSER TO THOSE SPECIFIC GOALS. AT LEAST 1 ACTION PER GOAL. PER DAY.
STEP 4: HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE. JOIN A GROUP (COACHCURATOR) AND START
POSTING YOUR GOALS. BE IT WEIGHT LOSS, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, OR YOUR CAREER…POST IT
STEP 5: DON’T EVER STOP, EVEN WHEN YOU MESS UP. DON’T TAKE BREAKS, THEY ARE JUST TRAPS FOR QUITTING.
I’d LOOOOVE to see your goals! So, post them on the Coach Curator public Facebook group and let’s do this girls!
